Brickworks Spreads the Word of ‘Social Media’
Although this post is finding our blog a little late, I think that it’s still important to put up because Brickworks is doing some fabulous things right now, and I think that it’s time to let our audience know what they are.
On Thursday, October 8, Anji and I were invited to the CHML900 radio station to talk to Shiona and Bob on the morning show. Like I said in my tweet after the show, “started a little shaky but we got into the groove quickly.” The purpose of having us on the show (other than to talk social media) was to promote a breakfast seminar we were hosting along with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce the following Tuesday.
The presentation went well. The only way it could’ve gone better is if we weren’t missing a key member on our team: Anji Barton. Anji suffered throughout the entire Thanksgiving weekend with a terrible sinus cold. Although she gave it a valiant effort, she wasn’t able to join us.
So that made me the Lone “social media” Ranger handling the presentation on my own, with a couple welcome comments from Brickworks Managing Partner John Pitts, of course : ) I think the best part about presenting about social media is the fact that I can talk about something that I love for an hour straight. It’s a great to have a captive audience again. Most of my friends and family have developed the insanely convenient skill of being able to tune me out at moment’s notice when I start going on about the new cool things happening in Web 2.0.
